This notice explains what personal information iFoodlab collects, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have. It is written with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in mind.

iFoodlab provides an AI-assisted food safety and operations platform. For personal information you give us through this website (for example when you join the waitlist or apply to a programme), iFoodlab is the responsible party. For information held inside a customer's account by that customer, iFoodlab acts as an operator processing on the customer's instructions — see the Data Processing Agreement.
We rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We do not sell your personal information.
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the service (such as hosting, database, email and, where you use AI features, our AI provider), under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. These are listed in the Data Processing Agreement.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, to meet legal obligations, or until you ask us to delete it. Data processed by AI features is retained by our AI provider only for a short, limited period and is not used to train models.
Personal information is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated per customer, backed up, and protected by access controls. See our Security page.
Under POPIA you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to its processing, or withdraw consent. To exercise a right, or to raise a complaint, contact us at hello@ifoodlab.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
For how we use cookies and similar technologies, see our Cookie notice.
